Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
I recently came to understand that I don’t have to understand everything, especially when it comes to what God is doing or allowing.
I really don’t think it’s possible for us to know or understand his plans, we’re merely humans, he’s the Creator of all things.
This is where faith comes in, right??
But –
I know, I know – there should be no buts, right??
But sometimes in the midst of pain and suffering, it can be incredible hard.
This makes me think of Job. He was a righteous man who was tested by God through immense suffering.
God allowed Satan to inflict suffering on Job, he lost his children, his animals, his health, and his wealth.
Job’s friends insisted that he must have done something, he must have sinned to be deserving of such punishment from God, but Job maintained his innocence.
Despite everything, Job kept his faith and never turned from God.
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you truly hadn’t done anything to deserve the pain, suffering and loss you were experiencing?
As I write this, I’m going through something like this myself, I don’t understand why it’s happening, why God would allow it to happen, and there’s nothing I can “do” to stop it from happening or to “fix” it.
All I can do is give it to God; to pray and have faith that he has a plan and that ultimately, he’ll restore the situation.
Today’s Question:
Have you ever found yourself in the middle of a storm like Job, crying out to God asking him why he’s allowing something to happen?
How did you maintain your faith?
